This presentation will show how business architecture can transform the legacy systems, old business processes and practices of a large bank with over 85,000 employees into a leaner cloud based environment.

This presentation will show how business architecture modeling and design can contribute to high performance service delivery models that enable peak employee performance, are lean & sustainable in the long run, while making sure that these new delivery models stay conform to regulatory requirements.

Finally, this presentation will show you how collaboration between business stakeholders, business architects, business analysts, process experts, enterprise architects, and IT architects spread out everywhere in North America can be increased using an internal easily accessible and dynamic business architecture model.

As a venture capitalist, I have been involved with numerous hardware and software start-ups that were later sold very profitably to large companies like Avago Technologies in Singapore, BMC Software, Oracle and Schlumberger. Now, I am a marketing & finance strategist assisting large companies in their growth, digital transformation and business architecture. My involvement as a strategist are at the following companies: TD Bank, Bristol Myers Squibb, the USA and USA Federal governments, among others. I've made (or will make) presentations at various IIBA® Chapters and BA World events in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Minneapolis, Seattle, Toronto, Washington DC, etc. I've also written articles for BA Times.

At the TD Bank, James Pickens is the Lead Business Architect and Program Manager for the following Enterprise Real Estate initiatives: Business Architecture, Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse, Data Governance, North American Lease Administration (Tririga), North American Affiliate Transactions for regulating cross-border services, and US Real Estate operating procedures.

Mr. Pickens' industry experience spans Life Sciences, Healthcare, Financial Services, and Insurance. He is a certified six sigma black belt specializing in leaning service processes and also a certified SCRUM Master.

Mr. Pickens' professional affiliations include the American Society of Quality, the Society for Information Management, the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group, and the SCRUM Alliance.

Colin has been with TD for 7 years and is currently TD's Enterprise Real Estate (ERE) Manager of Technology for the Business Management and Governance group. He is responsible for the strategic planning, project oversight and operational execution/support of various technologies in ERE (e.g. TRIRIGA). Prior to joining TD, Colin worked over 8 years in IT as a Software Developer, Technical Product Manager, Consultant, Project Manager and Trainer in IT Automation, Efficiency and Workflow. In addition to working in the financial field, he also brings experience working in the software industry and legal industry.
