    ABOUT THIS SESSION:

In this case study, we demonstrate how a business rule discipline was used to capture requirements and specifications for the Maryland State Retirement System. Use of business rules made it possible to capture requirements in one location while development occurred remotely. Careful attention to structure and design allowed subject matter experts to specify and debug rules.

    Attendees will learn:

    • How to use the business rules approach for requirements capture
    • How to coordinate between requirements and development efforts
    • Estimated productivity improvements from this approach
    • The importance of selecting intermediate values to calculate
    • How appropriate value selection makes debugging more efficient
