    ABOUT THE SPEAKER(s):

    Stephen D. Hendrick leads IDC's Application Development and Deployment research group which cover tools, technologies, and platforms used by professional developers to build and deploy applications. The Application Development and Deployment services that Mr. Hendrick manages include:
    • Application Development Software
    • Information Management and Data Integration Software
    • Business Process Integration and Deployment Software
    • Application Life-Cycle Management
    • Service Oriented Architectures and Web Services Software
    • Application Development and Deployment Cloud Services

    Mr. Hendrick has published research over the last 19 years in each of these areas and is principle analyst in the areas of application development and deployment cloud services, platform as a service, service oriented architecture, architectural tools, and business rule management systems. Mr. Hendrick is also leads research efforts related to IDC's Worldwide Professional Developer Model.  Mr. Hendrick is responsible for advising clients on market and technology directions as well as directing supply- and demand-side primary research to size, forecast, and segment the Application Development and Deployment markets.

    Prior to Mr. Hendrick's tenure at IDC, he acquired 15 years of application development experience within the information services industry. He came to IDC from the Global Electronic Banking division of Chase Manhattan Bank where he held a number of positions including Project Manager, Manager of Product Services, and Senior Product Manager.
     
    Mr. Hendrick's experience at Chase included managing software product development, directing product support activities, and driving the development of financial information systems to facilitate cost allocation, pricing, strategic planning, and product positioning. Mr. Hendrick is has also utilized decision analysis tools in addressing information systems needs for Chase and Chase customers including Mobil Oil, Goldman Sachs, ARA Services, and McKesson.
     
    Prior to this, Mr. Hendrick was a consultant at Interactive Data Corporation developing EIS solutions. He also served as an outside professional for Harbridge House developing fleet supervisory applications for the U.S. Navy, and supported econometric research in the areas of energy demand modeling, transportation, and litigation at Charles River Associates.
     
    Mr. Hendrick received a B.A. in economics from Hartwick College and an M.B.A. from Boston University.
