    Gladys S.W. Lam is a world-renowned authority on applied business rule and decision techniques. She is Principal and Co-Founder of Business Rule Solutions, LLC (www.BRSolutions.com), the most recognized company world-wide in business rules and decision analysis. Ms. Lam is co-creator of IPSpeakTM, the BRS methodology. She is Co-Founder of BRCommunity.com, a vertical community for professionals and home of Business Rules Journal. She co-authored Building Business Solutions: Business Analysis with Business Rules, with Ronald G. Ross, an IIBA® sponsored handbook on business analysis with business rules.

    Ms. Lam is widely known for her lively, pragmatic style. Ms. Lam is an internationally recognized expert on business rules and decision techniques. She speaks worldwide at conferences and other professional events. She co-presents interactive online seminars. She is also Executive Director of the Building Business Capability (BBC) Conference, which includes the Business Rules and Decisions Forum and is the official conference of the IIBA®.

    Ms. Lam is a world-renowned expert on business project management, having managed numerous projects that focus on the large-scale capture, analysis and management of business rules and decisions. She works comfortably with senior executives providing insights and advice. She advises senior management of large companies on organizational issues and on business solutions to business problems. She is most effective with mentoring and training business analysts worldwide.


    ABOUT THE SPEAKER(s):

    As Business Architect at Unum, Emily Springer led the development and implementation of business rules methodology and governance for the corporation. She has solidified a strong partnership between the business rule authors and the rule development leadership team. Emily participates in several cross functional governance teams supporting rule development and data integration, as well as project methodology.


    Kathleen A. Barrett has over 25 years of experience in various disciplines and technologies, including relational database, object-oriented development, rules technology, project management and technical leadership. For the past 8 years, she has functioned as senior tech lead on multiple business rules-based applications, utilizing Fair Isaac’s Blaze rules engine and Java.


    Jerre McQuinn is a Principal Solution Manager with 10 years experience at Microsoft in IT. She is an expert in performing enterprise analysis, process and technical analyses, and the elicitation of business rules and requirements for internal applications that run the enterprise. She is a Six Sigma Green Belt, a past presenter at the Business Rules Forum, co-author of a paper on “Requirements Specification Using Fact-Oriented Modeling” presented at ORM-2008, and a Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP®).


    Mike Lockhart joined Microsoft in 2006 as a SAP analyst. He is a program manager for a pricing modernization project and a product data management project. He has been deeply engaged in developing SAP solutions to implement product and pricing business rules. Prior to joining Microsoft, Mike was a technical consultant with Andersen Consulting beginning in 1993. Mike earned his MS in Electrical Engineering and is a certified Professional Project Manager (PMP).


    Bob Dizinno is a Lead P&C Solutions Advisor at USAA. He has over 17 years of experience focused on requirements engineering, business modeling and business architecture. My team is currently engaged in modeling the P&C policy service business and improving the skills and methods needed to do so.


    Mr. Blumenfeld is Director of Application Development for Fortegra Financial. He has over twenty-five years experience in advanced technologies, information systems management, and software development, helping companies in finance, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, and other industries. His extensive professional experience has included senior IT management, business systems development, product development, knowledge and process automation, and technology consulting. Prior to joining Fortegra Financial, Mr. Blumenfeld was Executive Practice Manager for Strategic Technologies where he started their Enterprise Integration practice. He was also formerly CTO for Advantiv, Inc., and has also previously held positions with GATX Logistics and Kraft-General Foods.
