ABOUT THIS SESSION:
A balanced set of requirements is essential to successfully deliver a quality product. Many teams focus on behavior requirements (e.g., use cases, stories, processes) when analyzing business needs - at the expense of business rules and data. Others dive deeply into modeling data, while others make business rules their primary driver. Veteran analyst and requirements mentor Mary Gorman demonstrates how to leverage behavioral requirements to discover and detail business rules and data - in tandem. You'll understand the risks of single-focused requirements and discover how eliciting and analyzing business rules and data simultaneously with processes enables you to deliver a more complete, correct, and consistent understanding of customer needs. Key Learning Objectives:
-
How to identify four types of business rules
-
When to start modeling rules and data in conjunction with stories/use cases
-
Who to involve and skills you need
-
The value of employing varying levels of data and rule detail
