Janine Andrews

Business Analyst, Telecom NZ

MAIN FOCUS OF PRESENTATION:

FAMILIARITY WITH SUBJECT:

    ABOUT THIS SESSION:

    Business units need to make investment decisions at a time when there is low certainty on business outcomes, what technology and business capabilities are needed to achieve them, and the alternative options available. The Business Analyst plays an important role in providing conceptual level analysis to support the decision making process, giving the business greater confidence in investment and trade-off decisions prior to project initiation. Using a real example in a complex business and technical environment, Janine will describe how Telecom New Zealand addressed these challenges

    Key Learning Objectives:

    1. Traits needed of a Business Analyst to work at a conceptual level
    2. The approach used and lessons learned
    3. The importance of getting the right level of detail

    ABOUT THE SPEAKER(s):

    Janine Andrews is a manager of a team of Business Analysts in Telecom New Zealand, and I have 15+ years BA experience having worked in many industries and countries including workflow consulting in the UK, a couple of short but hugely rewarding stints in dot coms in the UK/Asian/European markets, and in investment banking in London and Zurich, before returning home to New Zealand to enjoy the sunshine and outdoors. A BA at heart and I have recently passed the CBAP exam, and have a passion for using BA skills and techniques to provide business benefit in new ways.
