    ABOUT THIS SESSION:

Unfortunately, most Business Analysts (BA's) do not consider the potential risks that may impact their work in developing requirements and recommending solutions. Even in situations where a BA does use risk management, quite often the person does not fully understand basic risk concepts and therefore utilizes incorrect techniques in preparing and implementing risk management plans. This talk will present the common mistakes BA's make in dealing with risks, and how these mistakes greatly reduce the value of risk management. This presentation will cover the proven best practices for risk management BA's should follow. Topics covered will include simple and effective risk identification techniques, risk analysis methods and risk response planning. Actual project examples will be used to highlight various risk management tools that can be applied to your projects; including the successful use of risk management on a major information system (IS) project for a Fortune 500 company. If you think you know how to deal with project risks, come to this session to see if you are making any of these common errors. You may be surprised!
