Reuse! Business Alignment! Business Agility! These are all lofty goals that we want to achieve in realizing the automation of business. It all starts with fundamentals like business vocabulary, attention to detail, consistent classification and relating one discipline to another. This presentation outlines a methodology aimed at creating repositories of reusable documentation of business vocabulary, process business data, and business rules. The influence of the Zachman Enterprise Architecture Framework is described and the artifacts related to one another in a consistent manner, facilitating reuse by business and technology alike.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER(s):
Kimberly Thurow is a Business Rules Practitioner with more than 15 years of experience working as a developer, analyst, and manager of both types of teams. Her passion is establishing a Business Rules Approach within an enterprise architecture framework designed to quickly automate business functionality and change the automation at the speed required for the rate of change of the business itself. Kimberly spent many years working with mortgage underwriting business rules for various financial institutions, including Desktop Underwriter at Fannie Mae.
