MAIN FOCUS OF PRESENTATION:

FAMILIARITY WITH SUBJECT:

    ABOUT THIS SESSION:

    When tasked to improve the value delivery and efficiency of its organization, Chevron’s Downstream took the BPM view to rebuild its structure and business model. The business focused on its value chain and the integration of its components as it redesigned itself. To deliver this successfully, Chevron identified the business processes that are core to its business success. This led to an organizational design that enabled a new business model, and the efficient and effective execution of its core value chain processes. The process framework also provided a lens through which:

    • enabling processes could be identified
    • other processes could be streamlined or eliminated
    • the new organization became leaner and more efficient
    • delivers greater value through a keen focus on value chain integration

    ABOUT THE SPEAKER(s):

    Wade Wallinger was first introduced to BPM when serving on Chevron Downstream’s ERP consolidation project in 2005. While on that project he moved into a business deployment role and implemented the process changes for Chevron’s business in Africa in 2008. From there he built a new BPM team within Chevron’s Global Supply & Trading business. The success of that effort led to his involvement in the business process design work for Chevron’s Downstream restructuring, and now leads the Value Chain Optimization Center of Excellence.
