    ABOUT THIS SESSION:

    This presentation will focus on managing a business process redesign project from a project manager’s perspective. Using a case study of a manufacturing company who needed to redesign their business processes in order to better serve their customers and grow their business, this presentation will provide project managers, business analysts and others who work on business process improvement projects with a step-by-step process for effective management of such projects.  Unique challenges to business process improvement projects will be discussed along with recommendations on how to avoid issues arising early in the project.

    The following steps in effective management of a business process improvement project will be discussed during the presentation, utilizing the manufacturing company case study example:

    • Taking a project management approach to business process improvement initiatives – special considerations
    • Understanding/capturing the goals of the project
    • Analyzing current business processes
    • Redesigning business processes
    • Coordinating/managing business process implementation
    • Pilot roll out of redesigned business processes
    • Evaluation and refinement
    • Full roll out of redesigned business processes

    Participants will learn a process for managing business process improvement initiatives and will take away worksheets and templates for use back on the job.
