Run With the Big Dogs: Advanced Consulting Core Skills to Better Your Results
Presented by: Michael Taylor
Would you like to lead transformative projects that reach their intended goals? Of course you would! However, despite all the advances of the last 40 years, business executives still report that 70% of their organization’s initiatives fail to achieve their intended benefits. This persistent problem is true for a wide range of efforts, from corporate or unit strategy to acquisition integration, from business process improvements and business architecture to new technology implementations, and to all kinds of business transformation (change) initiatives. And it’s through no fault of your own – most of us have learned how to lead these initiatives “on the job.”
Come to this interactive workshop, and you’ll leave armed and ready to lead your transformations to greater success, leveraging 5 of the 33 advanced management consulting skills our research has identified. This class of skills provides new tools, frames and thinking to improve your goal setting, planning, and problem mitigation. You’ll learn how to quickly build alignment among disparate stakeholders -- moving them from “we each think this” to “we all agree to do that.” These skills will help you lead virtually any transformation more effectively – developing endorsed views on case for action, current state, goals, and potential barriers to action. And all this in less than half the time of traditional consulting ‘best practices.’
Business leaders, architects and analysts alike will leave this session with more than insights. Illustrating first with case studies, you’ll then identify practical ideas for how to better lead a current project, starting on your first day back in the office.
