Jared will host a panel of thought leaders on a forward thinking journey into the future of the business analysis profession. The panel will examine the value business analysts provide to organizations and how successful the profession is at delivering on expectations.

Jared loves being a Business Analyst and has done so in title for over 15 years with over 25 years of business and leadership experience in both the retail and energy sectors. He is a strong advocate for IIBA®, having served in various capacities with the Calgary IIBA® Chapter as well as chairing the Volunteer Chapter Network.

He brings his passion for business analysis and experience as a Chapter Leader to the role of Director of Regions and Chapters of IIBA®. He holds his Bachelor of Arts degree in French from the University of Calgary and the Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP) designation. He will take any chance possible to evangelize business analysis and will talk your ear off about the role and the profession should you allow him to do so.

Ashish Mehta is a seasoned leader with over 23 years of experience in leading global IT consulting and business analysis practice. A recognized thought-leader in the business analysis, Ashish has worked with clients globally to establish highly effective Business Analysis and IT Consulting disciplines, enabling the delivery of solutions to business and technical problems. Ashish leads IIBA®’s Global Thought Leadership initiative to ensure relevance of business analysis in fast paced business and technology environment. Ashish is a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) and a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

In his previous assignment, Ashish was a Vice President and Global Practice Head – Business Analysis at NTT DATA Inc. where he established a unique business analysis practice model – a $50M book of business with 350 consultants. Ashish has consulted in multiple domains like BFSI, Healthcare, Retail, Airline, Travel, Manufacturing and Public Sector.

Awarded by IIBA® for his dedication and commitment to business analysis profession, Ashish has volunteered with IIBA® for a decade in different roles including Global Board of Director. President and Founder of Watermark Learning, Richard Larson is a successful entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in business analysis, project management, training, and consulting. He has presented workshops and seminars on BA and PM topics to over 10,000 participants on five different continents.

Rich is a frequent speaker at project-related conferences and nationally and internationally. He has contributed to the BA Body of Knowledge version 2.0 and 3.0, was a lead author for the PMI Business Analysis for Practitioners: A Practice Guide, and the PM Body of Knowledge, 4th edition. He and his wife Elizabeth Larson have co-authored four books on Business Analysis.

Heather Mylan-Mains, CBAP

BAs Without Borders

Heather is from Des Moines, Iowa. She is a stimulus for change as a mom, a business analyst consultant, a longtime volunteer for IIBA®, currently serving on the Board of Directors. Heather worked as a Business Analyst long before there was a formal title, with a variety of project teams to identify and solve problems and challenges in the financial services, insurance and higher education industries. She has a passion for sharing the power of the Business Analyst role in every business. Heather is a natural collaborator, and engages people at all levels in organizations. Heather has a BA in Accounting from Grand View College and an MBA from Drake University and is a CBAP. Heather consults through her company, BAs Without Borders.
