    ABOUT THIS SESSION:

    Capability is a powerful concept which can be utilized to help an organization focus limited resources on the activities that are truly important to reach its strategic goals.  In Business Architecture, business capabilities represent a critical component can be viewed as the “connective tissue” between business strategies and the initiatives that are intended to execute on them. 

    In this presentation the speaker will address the challenges of integrating capabilities into the business planning and portfolio development processes. This presentation is based on practical experiences in Business Architecture over a period of years in a growing ($8+ Billion) regional wholesale / retail Grocery and Convenience Store chain.

    • The connections between capabilities, road mapping and portfolio development
    • Utilizing capabilities to break down the silos within an organization
    • Planning, activities, tools, processes, governance
    • Challenges, role change, business concerns, goal alignment
    • Leveraging capabilities into process improvement and other initiatives


    ABOUT THE SPEAKER(s):

    Richard Levine has over 35 years of business / process problem solving experience. He has worked within the Information Services department of Giant Eagle, Inc. in various roles for the last 26 years. Since 2000 he has been involved in the introduction and implantation of Knowledge Management, Business Process Analysis and Enterprise Business Architecture.  Currently he is working on re-launching Enterprise & Business Architecture.
