With almost 100 million active users, eBay is the world’s largest online marketplace. eBay was built on the open marketplace principle. Anyone can buy or sell practically anything. This openness also makes it an attractive to fraud. eBay has fought fraudsters through the use of a highly scalable BRMS that is solely managed by business analysts. This team owns the process starting from rule discovery all the way thorough to deployment.

Michael is a Senior Manager in eBay’s Trust Science group. The mission of this team is to drive the worlds most trusted marketplace through big data analytics, applied research, and technology innovation. Michael is a business rules pioneer at eBay and has been involved with its business rules platform since the first implementation came about in early 2001. Michael is always evangelizing the benefits of the BRMS within eBay, and to date has well over 100 unique areas on platform.
