Get Noticed and Be Heard: Using Storytelling to Influence Stakeholders
Owner and Strategist, Partners for Progress
ABOUT THIS SESSION:
How can you get your colleagues and management to actively support your business process excellence efforts and facilitate needed changes? What can you do to get them to understand and value your work and contributions to bottom-line results? Is there a way you can quickly communicate data and complex information so decisions can be made and follow through can happen? Use stories. From telling your own — to effectively eliciting them from others — stories can help you capture attention, build rapport, establish credibility, quickly communicate data and complex information, and inspire change. Hear why stories resonate with people and learn what makes stories more valuable than examples and case studies. Discover myriad sources for stories, how to capture them, a formula to structure content for maximum impact, and criteria for selecting and using them to get the results you need.
At the end of this talk, you will be able to:
elicit stories from others that help strengthen your relationship with them
pinpoint stories to tell others that will heighten their desire to take action
outline how to capture and craft a compelling story
