ABOUT THIS SESSION:
Most business executives recognize enterprise analysis as a critical preventive and planning measure, while often holding very different definitions of what it actually entails. At the program and project levels, the term enterprise analysis is used to describe activities dealing with understanding the nature of business problems and the creation of a business case centred on value to the project sponsor. Business architects apply the term enterprise analysis to understanding the integrated view of an organization and how its various specialized business areas work together to support the overall system, especially with regards to people, process and technology. Business executives and strategic planners use enterprise analysis as a lever to create, manage alignment with and renew strategy, mission, vision and values in order to establish and grow organizational predominance within market sectors. Government agencies use enterprise analysis to map core competencies of various branches within the public service, and to align relationships towards the higher level objectives of the government. Organizational development specialists stress the importance of managing organizational culture as a key component of enterprise analysis. Proactive and strategic business analysis can serve as the hub that integrates these specialized viewpoints and disciplines to enable maximum organizational effectiveness, transparency and alignment to strategy.
